FME Server - Licensing Options

FME Server is available in different editions. The licensing is based on so-called FME Server Engines (instances). Every FME Server Edition will be delivered with a single FME Server Engine. The number of the required FME Server Engines depends on the individual requirements regarding the performance of FME Server.

FME Server Editions

- FME Server Standard Edition, including a single FME Server Engine

- FME Server SpatialDirect Edition, including a single FME Server Engine

- FME Server Engine

FME Server licenses do not include a FME-Workbench. Thus they require a FME Desktop Edition in order to generate FME processes to be published.

Notes for users of FME Desktop

FME Desktop is an authoring tool for FME Server. In FME Workbench the generated processes can be uploaded to the server, so that other persons in a company can share these processes via the Web.

Notes for users of SpatialDirect

Users with a valid license for the SpatialDirect technology are automatically authorized to upgrade to the FME Server SpatialDirect Edition.
If you want to change to the new technology, please don't hesitate to contact us.

FME Server - Extensions

FME Server is optionally available as the FME Server SpatialDirect Edition. Furthermore it is possible to purchase SpatialDirect as an extension of FME Server afterwards. SpatialDirect extends FME Server by integrating a format independent download component.

SpatialDirect in brief
